Sunday:
I got no workout in the morning, got up late and hubby decided to go to the 9:45am church service since he had a 11:30am meeting. With hubby gone for his meeting, I decided to attend a run to celebrate a fellow BGR member 58th birthday, location was even close to me.

My favorite running course that always kick my butt Egbert@Bedford Reservation, 4 other ladies showed up to run with her, the weather was quite beautiful for mid January, mid 30s and no wind but of course all the hills were still there. We  decided on 5 miles which will be 2.5 miles back and out, which also means that we are stopping just before the flat begins.

I ran most of it with Veronica but she pulled away on the way back, I just have to respect my body, this is the most consistent I have been in months, actually did 3 days in a roll. The birthday girl gave us gold dog tags when we were done, so glad I came out, felt great after the run. 5 miles for an average pace of 10:15

Pictures are cutesy of Veronica:

Monday:
I slept through my alarm, but in the middle of a dreaming conversation with my niece, I had to check the time to get us somewhere so realized I was running late.

Done with Cathe for the next 7 weeks, let see if I can actually go 78 weeks with her, with that said, started Edge Booty Extreme 2 today, with tomorrow being speed workout, swap leg and upper body supper sets for today.

Today's workout was Upper Body Superset, 2 exercises back to back, 10-15 reps with 4 sets, will definitely feel this tomorrow, this is a no frill workout, I will probably use my own music next time around. This is about 34mins with the warmup, no cool down.

Got on the treadmill and got in 3 miles of run/walk, I am really enjoying doing this, it is just no pressure and my walking speed is slowly improving again.

The weather was beautiful again today and longed for a run outside but just wasn't in the cards.

Took the day off from work today since we are now have a use it or loose it vacation policy, weather was perfect at 63 degrees and Shelby was also off, what to do but to head over to our favorite palce to get in some miles.

Egbert was peaceful and there was quite a bit of people out including a mountain biker, the run was challenging due to the speed work yesterday and the trail hill run on Saturday but we still kept a pretty good pace including doing a negative split.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone , hope it was a great one spent with family and friends. had a great time with my Sister and her Family, it was wonderful spending the day with them since the last time was 2011, normally out of town with my Husband's family.

The day went pretty good and the eating wasn't too bad and we got a decent amount of workout in, the weather was beautiful which made it easy to get out and get a run in. Woke up got the turkey going in the oven and the mean greens going on the stove and went out for a 5 mile run, I felt really good on this run and decided on a progressive run, I dressed way too warm and was burning up by the end of the first mile but the blowing wind kept the chill on in some areas.

The plan was to do 5 miles by mile 4 I was running straight into the wind and the deal was if I can make it back to under 10 min/mile once I make the turn away from the wind I can run home and not worry about getting to 5 miles, did mile 4 @ 10:09 and mile 5 @ 9:34 so call it done at 4.8 miles, although I probably did 5 miles since I started my GPS later in my run due to no signal.

Got back home peeled and put potato on stove and sweet potato in the oven and went over to the basement to get in Xtrain Cardio Legs due to time and I was also getting tired, decided on the Timesaver Workout 7-12 routine, this is pretty hard since it is mainly step but was able to hang in there till the end.

My Sister, her son and I, 2011/2015

Friday, I was off from work so was able to meet Shelby for a run and was happily surprise to Sheila join us for a trail run since I know this is not her favorite thing to do. We picked our favorite spot Egbert, not sure Sheila understands why we love it since she is a city girl but she did great and we even went further that expected, weather again was just perfect.

Skipped the extra cardio on the schedule today since I was feeling run down, DH has been coughing and sneezing keeping away from him as much as possible.

Only made it to Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics to pickup some stuff with their 50% coupon, no other Black Friday shopping can't think of a single thing that will require a early morning stampede.

Beautiful day for a run, the rain stopped after 2 days of non stop raining and it never snowed as previously forecast. Met up with Shelby at Egbert for 6 miles, it's been almost 2 weeks since we ran together which really feels strange. We had a great run and I think our return trip may be one of our fastest, my leg felt pretty good which am happy about after all the sluggishness of the week day runs. Got back home and got in Cathe's Xtrain Supercut Timesaver + Core #1, this is a great workout, none stop complex moves.

Had  a great time at my husband aunt's wedding, it was just for family and very close friends, finding love again at 62 is a beautiful thing, unfortunately came back with the flu or something like it. Half way back from Indiana I was freezing cold despite the 80 degree temp, went to bed wearing a hoodie, long pants and wrapped in comforter, woke up Sunday feeling extreme weak and tired but better. Gave up working out Sunday - Tuesday since my body was just craving sleep.

Wednesday feeling much better after over feasting at the International Latex Conference, I made a go of Cathe RWH Low Impact premix #4 and after work since James was working late, went down to Egbert and got in 4 miles to shake out the legs, it felt good to sweat.

No workout today, felt worn out and with the half marathon on Saturday important to get there ready to go

What doesn't kill you make you stronger but a good night sleep keep you trucking, both were put into practice today. Alarm went off at 4:30am I had high hopes and big plans of an awesome run followed by strength training and yoga, what really happened was a roll over to check the weather with 75 degrees and 83% humidity I felt I needed more sleep instead which I must have since I went into a pleasant restful sleep for a blissful 2 hours.

Upon waking instead of trying to get a short workout in, I proceed to try on various outfit combination for a wedding next week, you will have to wait till next week to see what that is, which really translate to no workout this morning, surprisingly I was fine with it.

I haven't mentally made myself do a run after work without Shelby in quite a while but I didn't want to blow off the workout today since there was no real reason to, I felt great and hubby was traveling, so putting on my big girt panty headed off into the 80 degree heat with low humidity and there was actually some wind.

This was suppose to be a tempo run, 3.5miles at 10k pace a 1 mile warmup, I know I will not be hitting the 10k tempo pace so decided to run at Egbert which is a nice rolling hilly course, at least I will get a decent workout even if I don't hit the pace.

Decided on 3 miles out and back for 6, since I wasn't hitting 10k pace although I did try my best. The first 3 miles was hard since you hit the rollers none stop, on the elevation chart sure doesn't look like much but they are killers on the legs.

Mile 1 - 11:05
Mile 2 - 11:05 well at least am consistent
Mile 3 - 9:34 happy to burst out this pace after the rollers - Average Pace 10:35

Garmin reset, big gulp of fluid and the goal was to beat the time back, oh boy legs were fried but I felt good, am sure the extra protein from the bug helped a lot :

Mile 4 - 9:42
Mile 5 - 10:25 Yeah baby
Mile 6 - 10:03 Woohoo        - Average pace 10:03, I think I rock this one

Okay so I did hit the 10K pace in a single mile but getting 9 and 10s on this course based on how my body has been feeling made me very happy, especially since this is an after work run with me on my feet all day since I use a standing desk.

Now down to the single digit with the Paris Runcation, still so much to do even thou looks like I have been planning since December.

Saturday:
Got in 8 miles with Shelby at Egbert, somehow this felt very hard, I forgot my garmin haven't done that in a long time so went with Shelby's data, I try to stick with the goal of always finishing hard, it felt good push that pace for the last 800meters even thou we were very tired.

Got back home in time to bleach my hair and start cooking for our early Easter dinner with my sister and her family. It was always nice to see them and I love the baby, always amaze how many times he can call Auntie in an hour. We had a great dinner but I had to kick them out early so I can have a quick nap before heading to work at 8pm was suppose to be 7pm but they left around 545pm.

Working 8pm to 7am was interesting, hard just staying awake but we always have to be mentally alert since we are running chemical reactions it felt good to be back in the field, but once in a blue moon is good enough.

Sunday:
Got back home after the night shift, made breakfast for my son since he had to get on the bus back to college, I still continue to say this is the best $90 spent, got in there promptly, headed off to church after dropping him off for Palm Sunday service. Got into bed right after church for a 3hr power nap before heading out for some shopping and  a visit to a field that lost his mother. Quickie easy stretch yoga that really doesn't count.

Monday:
Need the extra sleep so got up later than usual but was still able to get in Cathe Ripped with HIIT Plyo #2 + Bonus Abs #2, great way to start the week even thou it is still cold here. Come on SPRING.

Tuesday, March 24, 2015

Last week got all my workout in, although did take it easy on the strength and plyo segment was able to get out on Saturday with Shelby for a great 10 miler at Egbert on the bike path. I love this course both the path and trail, just a great mix of hills to give the legs guessing very challenging course, we through in 4 hills repeats at Bridal trail, Shelby was great going up and down the hill, Chisel seems to be working out great for her. I love how strength training greatly improve the leg strength.

This week training has been going great, I have made it a point to get up on time to get most of the workout in an get to work before 9am, earlier just isn't working and doesn't seem to make that much difference. I love morning workouts more that after work.

Second time running in the Newton Energy with no break-in felt good, 1st time did 7 miles, love the colors

Sunday:
1 hr Spin just to take a break from from, rode pretty hard and felt good

Monday:
Cathe Ripped with HIIT Plyo # 1 with 6 miles easy, even thou this was an easy run, the cumulative effect of no rest seem to take it's toll so lots of focus required.

Tuesday:
This is pushing the leg to the next level, felt like the last 6 miles of a marathon.
Cathe Ripped With Hiit Lift it Legs, legs were fried after this one then 3x2 miles at Marathon pace(6mph/2%) with 800m recovery (4.2mph/2%) instead of a 800m recovery to finish did intervals at 7mph/2% to finish legs felt great went back to get in the Lift it Legs Stretch. Great way to start the day.

Paris Marathon is now just around the corner, mixed emotions, so happy to be where I am today and loving life, occasional memories of mum still filters in.

Need to start packing soon, going to see if I can get away with a carryon bag only, just do  not feel like checking in a full suitcase and dragging it all over London and Paris
