Day started out on a great note and ended on a great high.

Started out the day doing Jillian's No More Trouble Zone DVD, loves this and it kills me every time, probably because and quite sore by the time I hit it in my schedule which is the idea, using only 5# weight since this is high reps.

Afterwards  went outside, it was a beautiful day for a run and got in my 3 miles with 3x1 min/1mile pace run sprinkled in, had the Garmin set to 3x1mile with 1 min recovery and this worked perfect. Didn't quite make the 1 mile pace but was happy with what I ran knowing I have upped the weights this week and was quite fatigue. 1 mile pace 7:38 using TPL of 43 from Brain Training for Runners.

Mile 1 -9:50 (too fast)
1st 1 min - 8:29
Mile 2 - 10:05
2nd 1 min- 8:22
Mile 3 - 10:03
3rd 1 min - 8:21 (at least we are heading in the right direction)

After work went over to Hudson Spring Park to get in a run with Shelby, have been down here in a while nice rolling hill on a 1.8 mile loop

We got back after the 1st loop to meet up with 2 other runners but somehow we missed them so went back out for another loop

Body feels great and my wonderful husband had dinner waiting which even made it so much better.

Recovery Week 1

After the marathon, took my Hammer Nutrition Recoverite as soon as I got my gear bag and took a ice bath when I got home, use the stick to massage both legs, some tiredness and fatigue but I was fine, no problem going up or down the staircase (I guess this is suppose to be the official how your leg is feeling after a marathon test) .

Sunday I woke up with no pain except at the bottom of my right foot which is from having some problem with my sock and shoe not sure exactly what the problem was, neither was new. Did Yoga for Runners from Yogamazing before church and that was just perfect. Yogamazing is free on itune and Chaz is great, gives perfect instruction on how to get into poses don't just assume you already know.

Monday was a rest day because I needed more sleep and not due to pain.

Tuesday Dynamic Flexibility, 3 miles at  Recovery Pace (average 12:19) and Jillian Michaels Maximize Back in Action

Wedsnesday 4 miles @ Recovery Pace ( average 11:41), Jillian Michaels Maximize Full Frontal and 90 mins of yoga class.

Goal this week is only run in recovery pace, ice knees for prevention and lots of stretching.

After work picked up dinner for my son since band practice was starting 1 hour early and he wasn't going to have time to go anywhere to eat after Chess club meeting. I noticed earlier in the day that Mark from Ohio Outside had a posting up on the vertical runner's board about a training run at Munroe Falls Park that starts at 6:30pm, with my son gone by 5:30pm I could actually go for a trail run at a new site, it really don't take much to make me happy. The training run was for the Ohio Outside Trail series, the trail is very well maintain and the hills were manageable, may end up signing up for the series something to help combat the eating season. We ran 2 loops (4.4 miles) of the Indian Spring Trail in 49 mins, even though we started at 6:30pm it got quite dark in some sections and we had to watch our footing but very good run, it turn out it was just Mark and I that showed up which wasn't surprising since most people are running Akron on Saturday.
In the am did 30 mins of Spinning, 30 Day Shred level 2 and Gin Miller's Fitbody Supine.

I woke up this morning dreading my workout thinking I have a 3 miles tempo at 10k pace but got excited when my schedule shows 4x1k interval at 5k pace, okay so neither is a barrel of fun but I enjoy the intervals more than the tempo run but they are growing on me. So today's workout was

Dynamic Flexibility from Matt Fitzgerald's Brain Training for Runners Book

4x1k @ 5k pace with 3 mins recovery
3x0.1mile all out sprint with .1 mile recovery pace

Yesterday there was so much going on, so all I could manage was level 3 of 30 Day Shred.

Getting my son ready for college, we are taking him down on Thursday, so there is so much to get done and the fact that his financial aid is still screwed up and payment is due, makes things quite stressful.

Am trying to start getting to bed early so I can be getting close to 8 hours rest but it seems every time I try I always end up with a work crisis. Yesterday, was a perfect example, got into bed by 9:15pm and actually fell asleep right away only to be woken up at 11:36pm by my operators, after resolving the problem couldn't fall back at sleep. Toss and turn till 1:15am then got up and got a warm glass of milk and check email, got back into bed at 2:45am and reset the alarm for 5:30am but got up at 6:15am so not enough time for my planned workout, this is a non running day so went for a nice short workout.

Pilates Perfect-Buns & Thighs, I highly recommend this 10mins sequence, it really shows how weak my left leg is compare to my right and it seems to target just about every part of my leg.

Dynamic Felxibility

6 miles - 3x1k intervals, I was able to stay on pace this time without excess rest and also added 3x.1 puke level (9mph) it is amazing people can run at this level for a long time.

Dynamic Flexibility

9 miles running down Route 43 between Lake Bluff and Lake Forest, decided against the bike path, since the bikers go way too fast and don't believe runners or walker should be there, not sure why it was not called a multipurpose trail. It was windier than I though, I had a heck of a time on my way back, it was actually comical I was trying to stay on the right side of path but always end up on the left side. I use the virtual partner again, setting it for a 9:59 pace, but was able to push to find in a 9:54 pace. This was a hard run, I shouldn't have done the elliptical yesterday since I know I had a long run today, I haven't used one in over 6 months so my legs felt spent today. Average HR=152bpm

On my way back, I noticed my husband and his brother running, this was a wonderful sight to see, I joined them for a run back to the house 1.16 miles @ 11:05 pace. Average HR =146bpm

Jillian Michael's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism 53:23 mins workout on Exercise TV, average HR = 123bpm

Sports Cooldown with Heather P from Exercise TV 12 mins
