Still dragging today, woke up before the alarm but didn't get out of bed until 5:30am as usual wasn't sleeping either just there with achy tired body. Since I am back to running and following a free Garmin Connect Intermediate Marathon training program, I had a nice interval run on the schedule today.
10 mins warmup @ 5.0-5.4mph
4x4mins @ threshold (wasn't quite sure what that was started at 6.6mph but drop to marathon pace) 6.6, 6.4, 6.4, 6.4/90secs recovery @4.0-5.0mph
10mins colddown
Well forgot to turn the GPS off on the Garmin so pace was all crewed up since there is hardly anu GPX in the basement, although it always pick it up initially then loose it. So going with the treadmill data, it is aways pretty close about 4.12 miles in 42 mins.
After kid got on the bus, did Cyclo-core Power, this was another pack a punch workout in 11:20, use an 8# dumbbell.

Trainer Road: 20mins test
Well, spent last night getting the Garmin 310XT ready to use for cycling in the am, signed up for Trainer Road and had things setup for the 20mins test also in the am. Slept poorly so woke up later than expected which means I was going of have to pause before the actually 20mins test begin after the warmup and also towards the end of the 20mins test, I really wanted the test done today just to have a bench mark since next cycling opportunity make not be till Tuesday.
Using the Trainer Road software took training to a whole new level, kind of hard to cheat when the data is right in your face, you either pushing or slacking, I had Coach Troy on the monitor to help coach through the 20mins but really eyes were on the monitor, speed was fluctuating quite a bit so just focus on keeping cadence constant. Find result here, really wish there was something similar for running will make heart rate training so much easy to see and adjust while running on the treadmill, feel like I always loose form when I check HR.
Big learning curve with the Garmin 310XT, downloading to Trainer peak and Garmin Connect especially with TR connect not so smooth but easy and doable.
Chiropractic and massage appoint today to work on shoulder and foot, shoulder seem worse than foot not sure what exactly is going on there but keeping an eye on it.

Easy
Easy 6 miler today and I am trying to really keep the easy run at the right pace and heart rate zone, there is always that need to want to go a little bit faster just because you are feeling great. The easy runs are sandwich between speed workouts, so the easy has to be on target so as not to be too tired for the speed work the next day.
With the Garmin footpod, I am trying to under stand more about cadence, with easy run my cadence is about 88 and with speed work I am getting as high as 97, still no quite sure what an ideal cadence or target is suppose to be, but like the fact that my cadence is pretty consistent when doing easy or long runs.
I won a container of Amazing Meal from Molly, and since I got it I have been using it as my recovery drink after my runs and I have to say I am pretty impress, all I do is mix it with Almond milk, it taste pretty good, at least I don't chug it down. When I didn't take it on Sunday and Monday after my runs I could clearly tell the difference.

More snow today but not as windy as yesterday so the roads were better, I did manage to get to work today since I only have 2 working days left for the rest of the year need to get lots of things done as not to be called in to help doing my tie off.
I woke up today with incredible pain in my butt from yesterday's workout, and the spin session was hellish. Today's workout was 4 miles run interval, 32 mins on the stepper, 30 mins on the spin bike and Cathe Back and Biceps.
I got my new Garmin 305 and footpod yesterday, so was able to try them out today, worked great may have to recalibrate the foot pod so as to be able to handle varying speed change.

Long midweek run today at base pace, was aiming for 12 but ran out of time and only did 9.5 miles this morning so after work added on the required 2.5 miles, this was a long steady run, it always amazes me how hard it is to run at the low pace but I also know how important it is to do.
My next race is this weekend, I know the trail has about 6-8 inches of snow on it so it is going to be an interesting run and so far the stairs are out due to being icy so I am not sure how the double loop is going to work without the stairs then it is off to Arizona next week for next race and Christmas.
Ordered a new Garmin 305 from Amazon currently have a 301 which is in good working condition but I need a foot pod to use on the tread and the 301 does not have that capability also since my company pays half of what I spend on fitness up to $500, I was able to convince them about paying for the Garmin, am hoping I can convince them next year to start paying for races, even if I have to end up wearing a company tech shirt.
