Cleveland Police 3Mile Chase and Marine Corp PFT

For my birthday run this year, I decided to do the Cleveland Police 3M Chase instead of the Color Run, not everyday that you have the Marine Corp and the Police force to run with, show your support for and also to thank them for their service. I had a great time, since this was a chase I felt it was appropriate for me to wear my mustard yellow princess running skirt figure out the Marine corp and police force recruits need someone to chase and who better than a chick in a skirt.
The race started on time after a beautiful rendition of the national Anthem by one of the police officer his voice was incredible and then some marine stuff and then we were off. Since I have a half marathon tomorrow I debated about raising this but then heck I had on a skirt and then the skirt comment started like I knew they would so let the chase begin, I had a blast, one guy claimed he had cramps, one had to puke, another one needed water I yelled and told him this was only 3 miles how can he need water, only 1 guy kept up with me and passed me at the end but he worked for it. What a way to spend turning 45, hah the best is yet to come. On to Canton lets see what this body of mine can do.
The Marine Corp Physical Fitness Test was fun, did a 45sec hang and 2 mins of crunches well didn't get a perfect score but did awesome, spent the rest of the day celebrating with the Marines for Marine week.

Cleveland Half Marathon

Hot, since this was an experiment of one for a back to back trail then road run normally I run road then trail. It was hot and since I wasn't going for a PR decided not to stress myself out and just enjoy the race so switch to heart rate training with the hope of keeping it under160bpm since I wasn't running fast enough to be higher than that, so many runners passing out and cramping up, they kept the EMS very busy. They change the course again because I do not remember a hill at mile 9 and as usual even with all the multiple emails that was sent out not once was a change in course mention,it is really a shame that for an over 30+ years marathon they still cannot get it right. Leg felt great through out the run no issue whatsoever, not a bad run considering I did a hilly trail 10 miler before it. All in all a good run but I think I maybe done with Cleveland for a while.

Finally Here

After all the winter training run, the Cleveland Marathon  is finally here, Cleveland was my first marathon in 2008 and I do not have any fond memory of it. If I have had any sense probably shouldn't have ran it due to lack of training and multiple injury but oh well deep down I knew if I didn't probably would have stopped running for good again.

Went to the expo and picked up my bib and goody bag, only bought a 2010 tech tshirt for $2, not that much to buy and wasn't really that cheap based knowing the online price.

Right now am trying to decide on race outfit, this is Ohio, which means weather is always a big gamble, calling for a high of 62 with a low of 43 with thunderstorm, also you are suppose to have tried out race outfit well the temperature had been colder when I did most of my long runs so am just going to piece from different piece I have worn and hope they can go the distance.

The main goal remains to break 4 hrs, but not sure am quite there yet so the mini goal for this marathon is to break 4:30, so I will line up behind the 4:30 pace group and if all is well at the 20 mile mark, I'll move ahead and see what I am capable of. Last couple of days has been quite stressful with minimal sleep so not going in with the best frame of mind but

CLEVELAND HERE I COME
