Miles to Health

Decided not make today a cardio free day so as to give my leg a break, so woke up and did Mahler's Intermediate day 3 and some stretches. My knee pain stayed about a 3/10 all day and my left leg is beginning to hurt quite a bit, had the appointment with the sport MD today to review the MRI, everything looked okay but my IT band was very thick, we review the pictures together electronically and I can continue to do what I have been doing and it should go away eventually or I can get a cortisone shot. Since this is about week 5 of doing the stretching, icing and everything and it is not really improving, I decided to go for the cortisone shot. We found the IT band and he numb it using ethyl chloride to freeze and before I knew he was injecting boy did that hurt, after he was done, the leg stayed numb for a while but felt much better. Staying off of it for the rest of the day, but will ice for 15 mins interval till bedtime. Right now since the numbness is gone pain about 1/10, will see how we do tomorrow, 7 miles on schedule.
My oldest had his first track meet today, ran 100 meters, I am so proud of him, I know picking up a new sport as a junior is not easy but he seems to be having fun.
