Miles to Health

Monday, May 18, 2009

Of all days, woke up and decided to do my run outside since it was daylight, yes there was frost on the lawn and the weather guy indicated that the temperature was about 35, well I wasn't going to back out now and for the life of me I couldn't make myself wear long pants, mistake #2. So wearing a long sleeve running top and my Brooks skort out the door I went and I forgot the gloves since I went out through the front door and not the back and they were in the car. My body was fine but my fingers were frozen.

I wasn't expecting the dogs to all be outside in full force and every single door in my neighborhood is a barker and chaser, so it was an interesting morning and also having to dodge all the sprinklers since it was too cold to get wet.

The schedule called for 6 base pace miles but I dropped it to 4 since I am suppose to be tapering for the race in less than 2 weeks and with the Thursday trail run my mileage will be up again since I know we are doing a 6 mile loop. The run was fine, still some fatigue in my legs but no pain, my gardening marathon probably isn't helping my legs, since I am weeding, raking, moving/planting plants. So 4 miles with an average pace of 9:56

Got back in defrosted myself then did Barry Bootcamp Mission Specialist Upper Body Beginner, stretch on my own.

After work, got in 2 hours of gardening, starting work on the rose beds and then did Namaste yoga to stretch things out.
