Excellent Run-8 miles

Despite all the bad weather forecast for today, it turned out to be an excellent day for running, it was a little bit wet at the start but at 34 degrees with no wind and the occasional promise of sunshine to come I had a great run. Did 8 miles around the neighborhood, am sure a lot of people thought I was crazy but I love running in a drizzle.
I noticed something during my running, I could increase my pace my increasing my stride length, (not quite sure if it is called stride but oh well, amount of space between my legs), when I became consciously aware of it I was able to drop my pace to 8:39min/mile from 11:35 min/mile, so it took me one stride to cover my usual 2.5 shuffle, it wasn't any harder but it wasn't normal, it is like I need to train my body to learn the new stride, I may be use to the shorter stride because it is safer on the treadmill for me, I could also tell that I need to work on my flexibility quite seriously,
